MUST SEE Total Lunar Eclipse Blood Moon + Partial Solar Eclipse | Space Guide March 2025

Welcome to this month's Space Guide for March 2025! Get ready for an exciting month in the night sky! On March 13-14, we'll see a total lunar eclipse where the Moon will take on a reddish-orange glow (often called a "Blood Moon") as it passes through Earth's shadow. This happens when the Sun, Earth, and Moon align perfectly, with the Moon glowing red from sunlight filtered through Earth's atmosphere.

The eclipse will be best viewed from the Americas, with totality beginning at 2:26 AM Eastern Time on March 14th. Europe and Africa can catch a glimpse just before sunrise.

For photographers, any camera will work, but you'll get the best results with a 300mm+ lens and a tripod. Remember to adjust your settings as the light changes—higher ISO and faster shutter speeds during totality.

Later in the month, a partial solar eclipse will be visible on March 29th from Northern Canada, Greenland, the Arctic, and parts of Europe. Always use a solar filter for safe viewing!

March 20th marks the equinox, bringing spring to the Northern Hemisphere and autumn to the Southern Hemisphere. And for stargazers, late March welcomes back the Milky Way's core in northern skies, perfect for viewing deep-space objects like the Leo Triplet and Whirlpool Galaxy.
