Mineral Moon

$185.00

Captured just before the partial phase of a total lunar eclipse, this image came through a brief break in the clouds, with the full Moon suspended against a textured sky at the edge of shadow.

Its color reflects what is often called a mineral Moon, revealing subtle differences across the lunar surface. Ancient lava plains rich in iron and titanium sit beside brighter highlands of different composition, turning what can seem silver to the eye into a record of geology and time.
