What telescope and camera gear do you use to capture your images?

Shipping & Taxes
How long will it take for my order to arrive?
Each piece is printed and framed on-demand to museum standards in Germany. For print-only orders, production and international delivery typically take around 8 business days. For fully framed works with museum glass, please allow approximately 11 business days for production and delivery. You will receive a tracking number the moment your piece ships.
Why are shipping rates calculated at checkout rather than being flat-rate?
To ensure the safest transit for museum-grade glass and large-format prints, all orders are fulfilled directly by the WhiteWall lab in Germany using custom-fitted, reinforced packaging. Because these items vary significantly in weight and destination, I provide live courier rates to ensure you pay the exact cost of secure, insured transport to your specific door.
Will I have to pay import duties or taxes upon delivery?
For my US-based customers, my framed pieces fall below the standard $800 de minimis threshold, ensuring smooth, duty-free entry into the country. For international orders outside of the US and EU, your local customs office may apply import duties or VAT upon arrival. I do not collect these fees at checkout; the courier will contact you directly to settle any local requirements before final delivery.
Store Policies
What is your return policy?
Because each piece is a custom, made-to-order archival print produced specifically for you by the lab, I am unable to accept returns or offer refunds for a change of mind.
What happens if my print arrives damaged in transit?
While the lab uses highly specialized, reinforced art packaging, international transit damage can occasionally happen. If your piece arrives damaged, please retain all original packaging, take clear photos of both the box and the damaged print, and contact me within 48 hours of delivery so I can immediately arrange a replacement.
Can I purchase a high-resolution digital download of an image to print myself?
To guarantee the archival standard of the final physical artwork and to protect the copyright of the deep space data, I do not sell or distribute high-resolution digital files for personal printing.
Do you license your images for commercial use?

Prints & Materials
What makes "Museum Glass" different from standard glass?
Standard glass creates significant glare that can "wash out" the deep blacks of space. I use optical interference museum glass, which is virtually invisible. It provides anti-reflective properties, undistorted color reproduction, and critical UV protection to prevent your print from fading over time.
What is the purpose of the 1cm white border on "Print Only" orders?
Fine art cotton paper and deep-black astrophotography ink are highly sensitive to skin oils and physical abrasion. I include this 0.39" (1cm) white handling margin so that you or your local framer can secure the print without ever having to touch the actual image area.
Can I touch the surface of the Hahnemühle Photo Rag paper?
I strongly advise against it. The 100% cotton, uncoated surface is designed to absorb light for a matte finish, but it also absorbs skin oils. Always handle the print by the white handling border or wear lint-free cotton gloves.
What is the benefit of a 3-inch mat on the framed editions?
In a gallery setting, a wide mat provides "visual breathing room." Because astrophotography is visually dense and dark, the 3-inch white border helps the eye transition into the composition, making the finished piece feel much more substantial and professional on your wall.
